I am so excited to share with y’all a new blog series called the Silhouette Design Store Mash-up! Just a mere idea that came late last year (among the many others in my spaghetti-like brain) while I was thinking about what to do and share on my blog in 2018. The goal behind this series is to show Silhouette users how to mix-and-match designs from the Silhouette Design Store. Sure, there is the convenience of using a ready-made design as-is, especially in a time crunch. But let’s not stop there! So many of the designs are versatile and the beauty of creating is to think outside of the box and play around!
Growing up, I made many things from scratch so I think that is why I enjoy the process of creative design and doing things differently (read: only child syndrome). In this series, I am specifically creating handmade cards by “mashing up” a couple designs from Silhouette Design Store artists. The projects will incorporate various card-making techniques and alternate ways to use the designs. And to make this even more fun, I did a fun Q&A with the artists like I did last year with Rachel Place of Sweet Elsie. I love meeting other creatives and getting to know them beyond their “portfolio”!
So! Circle back in about a week where we kick-off the Silhouette Design Store Mash-up with a graduation card featuring work from Carina Gardner of MiniLou and Lori Whitlock! Below is a sneak peek of what’s to come! 🙂
