The first Design Team I’ve ever been a part of was with Silhouette America a couple years ago. I had just quit my corporate job of 9 years and thought I’d challenge myself to see if I could do it. Maybe it was a validation test to see if my creativity was actually legit. Having worked in a non hands-on creative job for nearly a decade, the creative side of me was pretty neglected and I yearned to create.
Being a blog contributor for Silhouette has really pushed me to try new things and I am more confident in my crafting abilities. So, this year, I joined the CutCardStock Design Team and will be producing some fun 3D paper crafts using their high-quality paper products. Each month, I will be sharing two DIY projects on their blog!
So far, I have created a super cute Hello Spring Wreath with a colorblock design. Acrylic paint holds up really well on their Curious Metallic Cardstock so that means there’s a lot you can do with their cardstock!
I’ve been crowdsourcing project ideas because there’s nothing better than making something for someone else who needs some crafty help! My most recent blog post showcases photo booth props made for a dear friend of mine who found herself in a pickle. A photo booth vendor cancelled very last minute but my friend still needed props for her son’s school’s annual gala. You can read more here about how easy these custom photo booth props are to make on the CutCardStock blog!
