Can I share a little secret? Nothing crazy but one day, I hope I can be a #plantlady. I love the life greenery brings into a home but folks…I know my limits and my goal right now is keeping my two kids alive!

But that doesn’t stop me from working on craft projects for darling little succulents. Those plants…I can keep alive only because their watering frequency equals the times I actually remember to water them.

This project was inspired by beautifully shaped planters I saw at my local nursery and I knew I had to make my own using cardstock in pastel purple in the spirit of Easter coming up!

I started with a square base that matched the diameter length of my little succulent pot and then proceeded to create the upper leather wrap part. The second part took a bit of trial and error but finally, I got the design just right! Wow, making 3D cut designs is tricky and requires a lot of patience! So you bet I did a little victory dance when I figured it out!

You can download this 3D SVG file here.

The solid line is a cut line and the dashed line is cut like a perforated line. The only thing my Silhouette didn’t cut (but totally could) was the hole punch. I instead used my Crop-A-Dile punch (affiliate link) because I wanted to know exactly where to hole punch. Lastly, I added black twine to connect/secure the upper wrap flaps.

What do you guys think? Super cute, right? Imagine all the material possibilities (felt, faux leather, vellum, etc) you can use to showcase mini floral arrangements! I hope you enjoy the freebie! 🙂
