Did you get a Silhouette Mint for the holidays? Are you wondering what you can make with it? Well, let me show you one of my favorite ways to use the Mint, the custom stamp maker.

A couple years ago, I used my Mint to make customized gift wrap, even faux washi tape! This hack is great DIY especially when you can’t find the exact style/design of gift wrap to go with your perfect gift.

To make this Valentine’s Day themed gift wrap, you will need the following supplies:

  • Silhouette Mint (link)
  • Silhouette Ink (I used black ink)
  • Silhouette Mint Stamp Kit (I used 30mm x 60mm)
  • Kraft wrapping paper (link)
  • Solid-colored tissue paper (link)
  • XOXO Heart SVG file

Step 1:

Download the XOXO Heart SVG cut file and import the file into your Silhouette Library. Next, open the file in Silhouette Studio and then save it to your hard drive as a .studio3 file.

Step 2:

Open the XOXO Heart SVG .studio3 file in Silhouette’s Mint Studio™. Go to stamp settings panel and choose correct stamp size. Then resize it to fit the stamp area.

Step 3:

Unwrap your stamp sheet from its packaging. DO NOT remove the plastic layer covering the rubber.

Step 4:

Let’s make the stamp! Click the leaf icon (Send to Mint) icon in the right corner. Then click “Start Mint” on the right and insert the stamp sheet through the back slot of the Mint, which will pull your stamp through. Once printed, remove the stamp from its carrier and mount it to the corresponding stamp base.

Step 5:

Squeeze the Mint Ink onto your stamp and let the ink sit and absorb into the stamp for about 10 minutes.

Step 6:

On scratch paper, stamp out excess ink until your stamp design becomes clear. Don’t forget to stamp the provided label so that you can easily identify your custom stamp.

Step 7:

Once your stamp design stamps cleanly, stamp away on your gift wrap!

I love how versatile this stamp is! Works great on tissue paper and kraft wrapping paper. I think I might use this stamp next to decorate envelopes filled with love letters! 💌
