Psst. Just in case you’re in disbelief that the academic school year is almost over, I wanted to remind you that Father’s Day coming up on Sunday, June 20.

I’ve got a simple project idea to make sure Dad knows he’s still rad. Inspired by a shirt my son wore when he was 2 years old, I created this SVG that both little boys or girls could wear.

To make your “Rad Like Dad” shirt, you will need the following supplies:

Step 1:

Download the Rad Like Dad SVG cut file and import the file into your Silhouette Library.

Step 2:

In Silhouette Studio, resize the design as necessary. Mirror the image (a must for heat transfer vinyl projects!).

Step 3:

Send your project to cut with your cutting machine using the proper cut settings. I prefer to put my heat transfer vinyl on a cutting mat although it is not necessary.

Step 4:

Cut around your design and use the weeding tool to remove the unwanted pieces.

Step 5:

Place design on top of shirt where design will go (the glossy carrier sheet will be on top). Set thin fabric over the heat transfer vinyl and press your warmed iron over the design for the recommended time for the HTV you’re using. Remember to use steady pressure.

Step 6:

Peel back the carrier sheet. Depending on your HTV, it may require a hot or cooled peel so check before starting this step. Once your carrier sheet is pulled, place your thin fabric over it again and press your warmed iron one last time.

Happiest Father’s Day to all the dads out there! Stay rad dads! 🤙
