About a month ago right after Thanksgiving, I co-hosted my first craft night for a group of friends. It was a little MNO (aka Moms’ Night Out) where we sipped some wine, ate some finger foods, and chatted all night long while making some holiday gift tags. The event was so much fun that I hosted it again a few weeks later. For the past several years, it has been a little dream of mine to share my love for crafting with friends. These days, people are busy…I for sure fall in that camp as well. But I think it’s sad when we become too busy to even try something we’ve been longing to do. I see you adding pins to your Pinterest “One Day I’ll make this” board!

So it was such a joy to teach and show my friends how to make personalized and unique holiday gift tags that they can actually use to jazz up their gift wrapping! Practical crafting is my jam! 😊

Since I have become such a paper hoarder, this craft night was a great way to use up those excess sheets of paper and finally put to use some craft supplies I’ve gathered but haven’t used! #craftersconfession

After scrolling through, yup, you guessed it…Pinterest, I found several tag designs ranging from simple to intermediate in difficulty. Various paper crafting techniques were even incorporated, such as stamp/heat embossing. Below is a roundup of the holiday tags we made as well as other helpful info related to each tag should you be interested in making your own!

Clockwise from top left:

  • This was the most intricate gift tag of the collection but probably the most fun as it’s a shaker tag. Circle shaker pouches were purchased from My Favorite Things. Shaker fillers were a hodgepodge of holepunched paper, holiday confetti bought from Target’s dollar bins, and sequins. The stamped sentiment inside the shaker tag was created using Versamark ink with gold embossing powder.
  • The adorable 3D-looking Christmas tree is a Silhouette Design created by my friend Amy Robison. The unique technique used here was curling the tree layers for a dimensional look
  • The Peace, Joy, Love tag features white embossing powder on a sheet of vellum. I love how the white “pops” off the vellum and pairs well with the red tag backing.
  • Who doesn’t love to know right away which present is theirs? This simple monogrammed tag showcases glitter adhesive chipboard letters purchased from Michaels. I love the black and white color palette that gives a very classic look!
  • The Joy to the World tag looks fancy but really just required a lot of simple assembling. With all the pieces prepared, crafters simply wrapped washi tape on the bottom of the white tag, glued a red button and two green leaf paper cut outs, and stamped the Joy to the World sentiment. The stamp was custom designed with my Silhouette Mint.
