Fun little family fact: both hubs and I played piano growing up. Both of us started when we were little and I continued through college, even getting a minor in music performance. We both value and appreciate music and want to raise our children experiencing the joy of music.
We decided this fall, we would see if our first grader would be interested and he (so far) LOVES it! He’s been hopping onto the piano bench himself to practice, even with a broken left arm!
So, it was time to get him a little music bag to hold all his music books. I picked up a simple canvas tote from my local Michaels craft store for a little less than $3 (yay coupons!) and started brainstorming ways to customize it.
One of my favorite HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl) projects featured Peppa Pig character names on my daughter’s pink sweatshirt. Any Peppa Pig fan would recognize it right away!
With that as my inspiration, I listed my favorite composers and added an adorable musical heart at the bottom. Hopefully he likes Beethoven too! It’s pretty cool to think that one day my son will play pieces I used to as a kid.
